      Note: Arrived in America in 1767 with siblings. Lived in Frederick County Maryland. Migrated to Frederick County Virginia (in and near Winchester), probably at the same time as brother, Henry (abt. 1782).

      "named as his wife Elizabeth to divide with his daughters: Sarah, Polly, & Caty to divide between them all debts due him, notes & bonds, also his wife shall continue to live at their house on Main Street, Winchester VA, after her death divided among all his children, named as son Philip also to have another lot containing 1½ a(cres) with all appurtenances, situated in Winchester, VA adjoining the lot of Michael CHIPLEY. Also to have his clock."

Acc't 1 Oct 1815, 4 Feb 1828 - his administrators Elizabeth Hoover, John HOFF, & Daniel HARTMAN paid his expenses some were: paid Elizabeth Hoover her receipt $820, paid George Bently his receipt $820.90, paid Philip Hoover his receipt $820.90, paid a portion retained by John Hoff $820.90, paid a portion retained by Daniel Hartman $820.90, monies into his estate some funds raised from cashed in Bank Stock, monies in the bank, sale of personal property, leaving a balance of property, some household furniture & items retained by Hoff & Hartman under direction of the will devised to his three daughters at the death of his widow, stated that said John Hoff has married his daughter Polly Hoover and Daniel Hartman has married his daughter Sarah Hoover, the balance of cash $683.99 to be divided between the widow, Philip Hoover, Catherine Bentley, Mary (the wife of John Hoff) & Sarah (the wife of Daniel Hartman) also stated that Daniel Hartman (indebted to the estate for $200, George Bently indebted to the estate for $400 & John Hoff indebted to the estate for $166.67, all to be paid to the widow.
