  Notes	(1) Sarah (HOOVER) HARTMAN is mentioned in connection with the estate of her mother, Elizabeth (HOOVER), in the following message posted by Cheryl to the Hoover Family Genealogy Forum on May 4, 2009: • "HOOVER, ELIZABETH - Will - 9 Feb 1839, 2 Dec 1839 - named as her daughter Sarah HARTMAN to have ½ of her entire estate, also she's to have her share of her daughter's Mrs. Mary Hoff in the real estate of her dec'd father, named as her grandchildren: Eliza & John Bently (children of dec'd daughter Catherine) to divide ¼ portion of her estate, named as her son Phillip Hoover to have ¼ of her estate, after his death any remaining parts of his estate given to his sister Sarah Hartman. Signed by Elizabeth "X" Hoover Executor: Sarah Hartman (daughter) / Wit: Wm. P. Wigginton & Jacob Huntsberry. Codicil - 9 Oct 1839 - Her daughter, Sarah Hartman, to have $1500. Acc't. - 23 Nov 1839, 3 Jan 1842 - her administrator Sarah HARTMAN paid her expenses. Some were: paid various creditors, paid John Taylor for digging her grave, paid John P. Reed for her coffin, paid Dr. Holliday's fees, paid D.W. Barton's fee & paid the sheriff. (Also) monies into her estate funds raised from sales of personal property, bonds due to her estate (listed by name, value & date) & bank dividends, balance paid to her legacies: Sarah Hartman $1810.81, Philip Hoover $905.40½, John P. (2) Sarah HARTMAN is listed in a household headed by Rebecca HARTMAN in the 1850 census of Winchester, Frederick County, VA. Sarah is listed in the 1850 census as a person who was then 64 years of age; therefore, according to the 1850 census, she was born in about 1786. According to the 1850 census, she was born in VA. The relationship between Rebecca HARTMAN and Sarah HARTMAN is not listed in the 1850 census. Sarah's husband is not listed in this household, and is assumed by the compiler to have died before 31 October 1850, the enumeration date of the 1850 census. (3) Sarah HARTMAN is listed in a household headed by Lewis P. HARTMAN in the 1860 census of Winchester, Frederick County, VA. Sarah is listed in the 1860 census as a person who was then 75 years of age; therefore, according to the 1860 census, she was born in about 1785. According to the 1860 census, she was born in VA. The relationship between Lewis P. HARTMAN and Sarah HARTMAN is not listed in the 1850 census.
