      WILL of OSTRANDER D. TODD will book 11, page 157 Washington County PA:

      In the name of God amen, I OSTRANDER D. TODD of Washington County, in the state of Penna, Physcian, being in good health of body, and of sound and disposing mind and memory, do make and declare this to be my last will and testament, in manner following, that is to say, I order that all my debts, funeral expenses, and charges of proving this my will, be in the first place duly paid, and after payment thereof, I give and bequeath to my beloved wife SUSAN A. TODD and to my adopted daughter MARY A. TODD, all my estate both personal and real, jointly and equally, share and share alike. Consisting of land and houses with more or less coal, my personal, consisting of U.S.Bonds, Union Pacific RR Bonds, Bank Stock, First mortgage bonds, Pacific and Atlantic Telegraph Stock, promissory notes, judgments and judgment notes, due bills, etc, to have and to hold and to use for their comfort and maintenance fully with the full rights to sell and convey said real estate as they deem proper, and if my wife SUSAN TODD, die before my adopted daughter MARY A.TODD, then it is my will that my adopted daughter have all that is left of my wife's share, except two thousand dollars which I will and bequeath to my beloved wife absolutely to dispose of in her lifetime by will or otherwise as she chooses, but the remainder my daughter Mary A. TODD with what I have already . . . bequeathed her, shall have fully to use and control as she chooses - and if there be any left at her decease, then it is my will that it be equally divided, that is the one half of what may be left at the death of my daughter, [inserted - the other half being disposed by my daughter] between my brothers and sisters?ROBERT H. TODD and heirs, HENRY S. TODD and heirs, Annie TODD and heirs, Minerva TODD and heirs, and the heirs of O.P. TODD dec'd, provided that my daughter MARY A. TODD shall not give anything by will or otherwise to W. I. MILLER or heirs, and in case my wife SUSAN TODD should survive my daughter MARY A. TODD, then it is my will that my wife SUSAN TODD shall have all the estate personal and real that may be left to control and use for her own comfort and maintenance as she may choose. The one half of which she shall have absolutely to dispose of as she may choose and the remaining half to be divided between my brothers and sisters and heirs, the same as I have devised above in the case of my wife dying before my daughter. Lastly I do hereby constitute and appoint my wife SUSAN TODD and my adopted daughter MARY A. TODD executors of this my last will and testament.

      In witness whereof I the said testator, OSTRANDER D. TODD have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal the thirty first day of May 1878.

      CODICIL to my will - It is my will, July 1 1880 that my adopted daughter MARY TODD shall not marry William BLACK, son of John and Mary BLACK of Fayette City, if she does the said will is null and void, and my property falls to the use of my wife Susan TODD her heirs and assigns in fee simple forever-signed sealed and delivered in presence of

      Probate 3 May1881. Commonwealth of PA, Washington County. Be it remembered that upon this 3rd day of May 1881 before me W.H. UNDERWOOD, register for the probate of will and granting letters of administration within and for said county, came D.P. LUTZ, MD and W.B. FLEMING, MD, the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing attached will of Dr.OSTRANDER D.TODD, deceased, who after being duly qualified according to the law, do depose and say: that they were present at the execution of said will; saw the testator sign the same, heard him publish it as and for his last will and testament; that they at his request, in his presence, subscribed their names thereto as witnesses.

      Commonwealth of PA, Washington County: Be it remembered, that upon 3 May 1881 before me W.H. UNDERWOOD, register for the probate of will and granting letters of Administration within and for the said county, came H.H. PARKHILL and J.P. PARKHILL the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing codicil to will of Dr. O.D. TODD deceased, who. after being duly qualified according to law, depose and say that they were present at the execution of said codicil to will - saw the testator sign the same - heard him publish it as and for a codicil to his last will and testament; that they at his request, in his presence, and in the presence of each other subscribed their name thereto as witnesses.

      And now May 3 1881 It being adjudged that the said will and codicil have been duly proved, letters are issued to Mrs.SUSAN TODD and Mrs.MARY A. BLACK in said testament named who were duly qualified by W.H. UNDERWOOD, register.
