Samuel French, called Samuel, Jr., lived for a time in Salisbury, and was perhaps all his life in the same location. A part of that town was included in South Hampton, New Hampshire, by the establishment of the province line in 1741. The birth of his fifth child is found in the records of the South Hampton church, from which it would appear that he was a resident of South Hampton in 1753. His wife's name was Mary, and their children were: Reuben, Green, Henry, Samuel, Ezekiel, Ruth, Deborah, Hannah and Mary. . . .
