He was born in that part of Hardin County which is now LaRue, May 16, 1811, and died in the lower part of Hardin County, December 16, 1883. He was married, May 12, 1836, by Rev. James Daugherty, to Leatitia Hardin (B. 1809. D. 1903), a daughter of Martin Hardin, of Hardin County. Lived the greater part of his life on farm near Stephensburg, Hardin County, Ky., though for several years prior to and during the Civil War lived near Mexico, Missouri. CHILDREN OF JESSE V. (I. N) AND LEATITIA HARDIN LARUE (SEVEN). I. N a - Martin W. LaRue: Born 1837. Died, 1911. Married Mary Ellen Hawkins, November 5, 1857. Four children living (1920). I. N b - Robert Jacob LaRue: Born 1838. Died 1913. Married Mattie Crutcher in 1862. One daughter living (1920). I. N c - Rose Jane LaRue: Born 1841. Living in 1921, at Shelbyville, Tennessee. Married Charles W. Cornforth (D. 18__). Two children living (1921). I. N d - Stephen LaRue: Born 1843. Died in infancy. I. N e - Lafayette Morgan LaRue: Born 1844. Died 1903. Married Mary E. Kirtley in 1870. Two children living (1920). I. N f - Sarah Eleanor LaRue: Born 1846. Living, in 1920, at Milligan College, Tennessee. Married Josephus Hopwood, August 19, 1874. No children. I. N g - James LaRue: Born 1849. Died in infancy.
