      In the name of God Amen The Eleaventh day of August one thousand six hundred ffifty and four I ffrancis ffrost of Brinckley in the County of Cambridge yeoman beinge sick in body but of good and perfect memory Thanks bee given to god doe ordaine and make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and forme ffollowinge That is to saye ffirst and before all things I bequeath my soule to Allmighty god my Creator Trustinge through the merritts death and passion of Jesus Christ my Redeemer to obtaine free pardon and remission of all my sinnes and offences And by him to bee saved And my body to bee buried in the Church or Churchyard at Brinckley at the discretion of my Executors Item I give to my brother Stephen ffrost All that my Capitall Messuage or Mansion house scituate and beinge in Brinckley aforesayd with all other the houses and buildings yards orchard and garden togeather with a Chroft or Close of Pasture or meadowe thereunto belonginge and adioyninge And alsoe all and singular other my ffreehold arrable Lands beinge dispersedly on severall peices or parcells within the Parrishes and ffields of Brinckley Carlton & Willingham ffor and dureinge the tearme of his naturall life And from and after his decease I give the sayd Messuage and Lands And all and singular other the Premisses with their and every of their Messuage and Lands And all and singular other the Premisses with their and every of their Appurtenncs To ffrancis ffrost my grandchild the sonne of John ffrost my sonne deceased and to his heires fforever And if the sayd Stephen ffrost my Brother shall happen to dye before the sayd ffrancis my grandchild shall attaine and come to his age of one and twenty yeares Then I will and my meaninge is That my Executors hereafter named shall have the use and benifitt of my sayd Messuage and ffreehold Lands untill the sayde ffrancis my grandchild shall accomplish his age of one and twenty yeares And if the sayd ffrancis my grandchild shall happen to dye before hee shall come to his age of one and twenty yeares and without issue of his body lawfully begotten Then I give the sayd Messuage and ffreehold Lands and all other the premisses with their Appurtenncs from and after the decease of the sayd Stephen ffrost my brother to ffrancis ffrost my sonne and to his heires fforever Item I give to the sayd ffrancis ffrost my granchild one Customary or Coppyhold Close of pasture Called Woodcotes with a Tennement thereuppon built And alsoe all and singular other my Coppyhold Lands holden of the Mannor of Carlton cum Willingham To him and his heires forever And I will and my minde is that my Executor and Executrix hereafter named shall have the Lettinge and disposeinge of the sayd Coppyhold Tennemt. pasture and arrable Lands And shall receave and take the yearely rents and proffitts thereof untill such time as the saide ffrancis my granchilde shall attaine and come to his age of one and twenty yeares payeinge to the sayd ffrancis my Grandchild The somme of Tenn pounds of Lawfull English monie yearely and every yeare dureinge the tyme of his minority at two usuall ffeasts or Tearmes in the yeare That is to saye at the ffeast of the Annunciation of the blessed Virgin Mary and Saint Michaell Tharchangle by even and equall portions And the Remainder or overplus of Rent which shalbee made or arise out of the sayd Coppyhold pasture Tennement and Lands over and above the sayd yearely somme of Tenn pounds to bee payd as aforesayd I Leave to my Executor and Executrix to bee disposed of at their owne Wills and pleasure they payeinge the ffyne and the yearely Coppy rent to the Lord of the Mannor for the same dureinge the sayd Tearme which sayd ffyne and Coppy rent I will shalbee deducted out of the Tenn pounds a yeare formerly given to the sayd ffrancis my grandchild And if the sayd ffrancis my grandchild shall happen to dye before his age of one and twenty yeares and without issue of his body lawfully begotten Then I give the sayd Tennement pasture and Coppyhold Lands to ffrancis my sonne and to his heires fforever Item I give to the sayd ffrancis my sonne Twenty pounds of Lawfull English monie to be payd unto him within Three moneths next after my decease Item I give to my Three grandchildren Mary Elizabeth and Susan the daughters of John ffrost my sonne deceased Three hundred pounds of Lawfull English monie to bee payd unto them by the sayd ffrancis ffrost my grandchilde in manner followinge That is to saye one hundred pounds thereof to Mary his Eldest Sister within one yeare next after hee shall Come to his age of one and twenty yeares one other hundred pounds to Elizabeth his second Sister at her age of one and twenty yeares or within one yeare then next followinge And the other one hundred pounds to his Third Sister Susan at her age of one and twenty yeares or within one yeare next after her sayd age of one and twenty yeares And if anie of my sayd Three grandchildren shall happen to dye before such time as their Legacie shalbee due and payeable unto them Then I will and my meaninge is That the part and portion of her soe deceaseinge shalbe equally devided betweene the other two survivinge Sisters And if two of my sayd grandchildren shall happen to dye before their portions shalbee due and payeable unto them Then my will and mind is That one hundred pounds of their sayd portions shalbee payd to my sayd sonne ffrancis at such time as it should have byn to the Last deceasing grandchild if hee bee then Liveinge But if default bee made in payment of the sayd somme of Three hundred pounds in part or in all by the space of one moneth next after the same shalbee due and payeable Then my will and mind is That my sayd Three grandchildren Mary Elizabeth and Susan shall enter upon my sayd Capital Messuage and all other the premisses with their Appurtenncs to the same belonging Togeather with all my ffreehold arrable Lands and the same shall have and enioy to them and their heires fforever equally to bee devided betweene them Item I give to the abovesayd Stephen ffrost my brother one Close of Pasture or meadowe Lyeinge in the parrish of Barnardiston als Banston in the County of Suffolke To him and to his heires fforever Item I give to my daughter in Law Mary ffrost of great Thurlowe ffive pounds of Lawfull English monie to bee payd her within Three moneths next after my decease I give to Mistris Susan Tearesley of Carlton cum Willingham in the County of Cambridge Widdow three pounds of Lawfull English monie I give to the poore of the parrish of Brinckley Twenty Shillings to bee distributed amongst them at my buriall The Residue of all my goods Chattell and Chattells as well moveable as imoveable my debts Legacies and funerall Charges payd and discharged I give and bequeath them to the sayd Stephen ffrost my brother And to the sayd Mistris Susan Tearesley Whom I ordaine and make Executor and Executrix to this my Last Will and Testament
