According to family records which have the appearance of reliability, he was born February 9, 1787, and married on November 18, 1828, Mary Cook, who was born April 17, 1799, and died August 26, 1853, according to the October 15 Issue of the above named newspaper. James and Mary Cook Frost are buried in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, in Davie County, North Carolina.
